After Vegas, we drove to Phoenix where Shawn played in the Memorial as I watched and greatly enjoyed the time I got to spend with my father and step mother.
Sunday following the Memorial, we got back in the car and headed for California. My brother, his wife, Miriam, and their two beautiful daughters were in the process of moving from their house in Mountain View to one in Atherton, CA. We expected to stay for a couple of weeks, but found so many jobs to keep us busy that we ended up staying for nearly 2 months.
During this time, my mother came out to CA to help Clint as well. She and I started what I hope becomes a tradition with a “girls weekend” and we went up the coast and stayed in a
bed and breakfast with a great ocean view. We did some wine tasting, saw some giant red wood trees, and found a fantastic little restaurant in Elk, CA.
The rest of the month Shawn and I categorizing and organizing a couple of storage containers full of Balinese furniture and art.
